The Peace Fountain located next to the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in New York City was sculpted by Greg Wyatt and casted by the Bedi-Makky Art Foundry in 1985.  This 40 foot tall bronze statue commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Episcopal Diocese of New York.  It is dedicated to the children of the Earth.

The winged figure represents St. Michael the Archangel (celebrating the triumph of good over evil) who has struggled with and defeated the twisted figure of Satan.  The giraffe symbolizes the triumph of peace.  The sleeping moon represents the natural rhythm of life.  The crab represents life's origin in the sea.  Four "flames of freedom" are at the base.
